Letters to our son September 2013

I have recently joined an amazing group of woman from Clickin Moms in writing monthly letters to our sons.  Please follow our blog circle and check out the talented Kristin Gourley  as we start this new adventure.

My dear babies

This last month Daddy was away for work for six whole weeks.

So I decided to take you guys down to South Africa to go visit your grandparents and to see your cousins.

I find it so hard to believe how much you guys have changed this last month.  When we first got to South Africa you said a single word here and there.

Now after your visit you guys are stringing together little sentences.

And you guys do it with a little lisp here and there in those little baby boy voices that I adore so much.

To start off with you guys just fell in love with your grandparents all over again, calling Oupa and Ganny all the time.  I just loved the way that you guys made your grandparents feel so special by crawling into their arms and into their hearts every chance that you got.

You played outside in the glorious Arican sun for most of the days and loved every second of it.

My Tydi boy you have surprised us again with your absolute unconditional love of animals.

You ran after every cat or should I say meeeuw that you saw, you held the doggies head in your little baby hands and kissed them over and over.

You walked right up to the cows that where so much bigger than you without any fear whatsoever.

You called Boesman to sit on your lap and patted him while you watched television in the mornings.

You call Shiloh all the time and I think its one of the cutest things I have ever heard in my whole life!

Seriously my boy, you are such a sweetheart and you know just how to play at my heart string when you wrap your little arms around me and kiss me over and over again, love you bun.

I hope that you will continue to love animals the way that you do and I promise soon as you are a little bigger we will get you a doggie of your own.

Chasie baby, my word. I don’t have enough words to describe how much you like bikes, bikes off all diffrent kinds, your little push bikes, the electric bike, the quads and Oupa’s motorbike

You run to them when we get on the farm or at the river and you just wont get off, even if it means standing on the side of the quad for most of the morning.

The first time I put you on the quad and rode around the farm you started laughing and the faster I rode the more you laughed, I guess you are taking after your Daddy with all my boys being bike CRAZY!

You have the sweetest little way of saying ok, you lower your voice and say OK with a little smile on your face.

You mister are a serious heart breaker!

When you put your little hands on my leg or come lie on my lap you have me wrapped around your little finger, love you Chasi

Thank you so much boys.

I had such a nice time with you, I hope that we will have many more adventures like this and I cant wait to see how you guys grow and develop into the little people that you are destined to be.

As we where leaving the airport to board the plane back to Dubai I saw this and it seemed so fitting:

“If you want to go fast, go alone
If you want to go far, go together”

African proverb

Love you my angels

Oh my goodness! How precious these two are! They will treasure this letter so much. Grandparent time is so special. You are blessed. I do love how you captured their unique likes in animals and bikes. It will be fun to look back on this someday and see if it still holds true. Sweet boys!

I know how easy it is to NOT do big adventures while your partner is far away, so bravo to you for taking on travel with two little ones on your own! That photo with their grandfather is priceless and I love how you still captured the detail of their faces despite the bright light behind them.
